This tour begins from the remains of the castle and its two defense towers, in particular Torre Donà, among the highest remaining early medieval towers, and continues towards Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Rovigo's main square, which is surrounded by elegant noble buildings: Palazzo Roverella, Palazzo Roncale, Loggia dei Nodari, Accademia dei Concordi and Palazzo della Gran Guardia.
The itinerary continues to Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, where the bronze statue dedicated to the military leader stands in the centre and the Teatro Sociale, a traditional theatre, overlooks it.
